Licence for non App Store App

July 22, 2015 - 4:44am #1

Hi devs,

we want to build an Unity + Vuforia App, which won't be in the App Store. It will only be installed via APK locally on some devices. We want to remove the watermark, so we need a licence.

1. Question is if the watermark is removed instantly when the licence is bought and added to the project? So the App has not to be published via App Store to remove the watermark?!

2. On another (older!) thread I read that the licence check is online, so the device must be connected to the internet on start-up. Is this still the current way?

Thanks

  1. The watermark is only displayed if the app is using a Starter license key. Paid license keys don't show the watermark. The effect is immediate when running the app.
  2. For 4.0.x - 4.1.x, the license check required network access to validate. For 4.2.x, the license check no longer needs network access.
