and it even tracks how many recognitions are done locally on the device from targets stored 'offline' so you will pay extra once 5,000 recognitions have been made despite them using 'offline' triggers or cloud recognition.
Can you reference that? That would be completely insane...
edit:: re-read the license and it is charging for local reco, that is insane.

Vuforia, you guys are insane.
Good luck, we wait months to find this out, and you just pushed away your entire community. The local target reco is absurd as is the new internet requirement, can't even believe you'd try that. Plans don't re-adjust so you're banking on everyone paying $0.05 per scan in overages.....so if a target shows, is lost and shows again, that's $0.10! ha ha ha.
Not sure what you guys were expecting.

Thanks for all of your detailed feedback. We’re reading every post and we hear you. Stay tuned for updates coming shortly.

Is pricing per app or developer account?
It's worse than that. You'll pay $198 a month if you're "lucky" enough to have failed applications that can hobble along with that 5,000 recognition event per month limit. You might be paying $2,000 a month, or higher. The cost per recognition of a nickel is either madness, or I have a fundamental failure to understand something basic about our industry. It's probably not that second thing. :/
Is pricing per app or developer account?
Yes. The pricing is per application. You can use the same License Key for the same app if it is deployed on more than one operating system platform (e.g., Android and iOS). Note that different apps cannot share a License Key. Please refer to the following FAQ for more information:

Dear Vuforia Sales Team,
please, compare your pricing with other AR platform providers and you will realize that you are by far the most expensive provider among all of them. And this happend overnight.

Is pricing per app or developer account?
It looks to be per app.
If you go to 'sign up' for a pricing plan from the Pricing page, then click on Add Licence Key you'll see the first input box at the top asks for the Application Name ie. your app name.
So each key is set for a specific app by the looks of it, which makes it even worse for smaller developers. Basically you have to pay a minimum of $99 per month per app, your app must be able to connect to the Internet on first start up otherwise it won't work (bad for outdoor applications with no signal) and it even tracks how many recognitions are done locally on the device from targets stored 'offline' so you will pay extra once 5,000 recognitions have been made despite them using 'offline' triggers or cloud recognition.
Is pricing per app or developer account?
Those pages speak as if developers only make one app. They never use the word "apps" or "applications" ...only "app" (singular).
Did Vuforia really think developers only make one app? Or do they think we will pay those (already exhorbitant) prices for EACH application?
I'll be honest though, the restrictions are already so tight that it might only take 200 users to hit 5k 'recos' - so no one can realistically do the <$100/mo. plan anyway.
In either case, a straight answer from the Mods or the Vuforia Team would be appreciated. Please stop linking us to the FAQ and Pricing Page. The do not specify whether the pricing is per app or per developer account anywhere.
The Licensing scheme for Vuforia 3.0 was OK. What is the reason for the change?
