Vuforia 4.0 and Vuforia for Digital Eyewear

February 27, 2015 - 1:08pm #1

So what is the pricing scheme we can expect for Vuforia for Digital Eyewear? Will there be two seperate subscriptions? I forsee many apps being developed for both smartphones/tablets and eyewear.

Also the Platinum "Contact Us" pricing has me very concerned. I develop apps for industry and many are small manufacturers. This would be considered internal and having to open up propriatary information about my clients and our private development in order to get a Liscensing Fee figured out is not a viable situation IMO. At least with Mataio I can pay a single fee and be done with it and develop to as many apps with as many companies as I wish.

We need answers...

As to be expected at this point...  And I bet it will be even more of a scam pricing wise then regular apps.......

So disappointing.

Please see the License Manager FAQ - https://developer.vuforia.com/library/articles/FAQ/License-Manager-FAQ

A separate license key and deployment plan will be needed for Digital Eyewear apps.

And I have asked the same question in that thread andf have received zero response from Qualcomm.....  The comunity as a whole needs answers and I have serious issues with any product that says to "Contact Sales" for pricing. This has the smell of flesh being racked over hot coals.

Unity, Adobe, Autodesk, The Foundry, all have software that I use and do not have to "Contact Sales" for any of it.......

Pricing needs to be straight forward for ALL to see and know.

Now,  I understand. Qualcomm built up a nice platform with our help and now it is time to pay. The new pricing scheme for the AR platform is just insane.

For this reason, we are not going to make the same mistale again. VR with Qualcomm? No way.

Also it is great to find out about all of this by being greeted by a large scrolling legal document. Not very conversational.
