Hi, I realize the Vuforia API limits developers to a max of 5 simultaneous targets (HINT_MAX_SIMULTANEOUS_IMAGE_TARGETS) for performance reasons, but I'm wondering if it'd be possible to increase that number if we don't care so much about performance. Specifically, I'd like to be able to detect about 20 Image Targets in a captured picture / single frame. Possible?
Thanks!
Hi,
Hi,
The maximum that we recommend is 10. I am not sure if 20 will work, however please feel free to try it out.
If you want to set it to 20 please also set the Camera Device Mode to Default or Speed.
Thank you.

I'd love to give it a try.
I'd love to give it a try. However I set it to 10, but it still only tracks up to 5 at a time. I don't think this is a hardware limit, but built into the SDK.
Hi,
Hi,
I was also not able to detect and track more than 5 IT in the same camera frame. However by using Extended Tracking and detecting 2-3 a time it worked like a charm. I understand that maybe does not fit your use-case however it seems to be a viable workaround.
Thanks for the extra info. So
Thanks for the extra info. So if I use Extended Tracking, does that mean the first set (of 2-3) have to be off-screen before it can detect the next set, or can/does it cycle through sets even with, say, a dozen in the camera frame at the same time?
Thanks!
Hi,
Hi,
Yes, you need to start with 2-3-4 in the beginning; afterwards have batches of 2-4 off-screen and than cycle through the batches.
Thank you.
