April 2, 2019 - 11:17am #1

I hope to create AR app to simulation graphs as marker-based way.I plan to do, show a graph model on marker and I need to change that simulation with user input parameters.so I needed to update Vuforia database.I need to update vuforia database data by replacing or updating new graph model instead of previous model on the same target. can I do it?

or it possible to automatically update the app each time i add new target image?

if the latter , i how can i do that?? and vuforia support unity remote settings ??

Vuforia Engine SDK provides APIs to dynamically load device databases: https://library.vuforia.com/articles/Solution/How-To-Work-with-Device-Databases.html

Hello,

Thanks for the feedback. I *think* I have a better understanding of your use case.

If your images are static, meaning that the what the Vuforia Engine will recognize will not change, and there are less than 1,000 total images to be recognized then I would recommend using Image Targets and not Cloud Targets. The latter is best when you have more than 1,000 targets and/or you'll be constantly adding/updating targets.

As each Image Target can be named with a unique identifier, you can associate predefined or real-time generated data with each. Here is an idea of the workflow I'm envisioning:

  1. User starts app running Vuforia Engine SDK
  2. User is prompted to point device camera at target image (graph?)
  3. Vuforia Engine SDK recognizes target image and starts tracking
  4. User is prompted to input data into the app related to that unique target identifier (normally the defined when the target is created on the portal's Target Manager)
  5. App displays content generated from user input data, and registered to target

Here are some tips for creating robust 2D targets for the Vuforia Engine: https://library.vuforia.com/articles/Solution/Optimizing-Target-Detection-and-Tracking-Stability

I need to change Displayed graph model on the same loading  target by according to user input.I don't need to change the loading image target.Only need to Display model on the same loading target according to user input. How I do that? For that do I need to make a new Graph model to the new user input parameters and replace the Vuforia cloud database instead of previous model on the same target without changing the loading target place Or, could I save a dummy graph model in the vuforia cloud data base and pass the parameters to the model and update the model in the DB according to my user parameters.after that updated graph can load to the same loading target? what is the best way to archive this. Please help me !!!

Hello,

Will the target image be changing? Or is only the data being displayed being changed?

If the latter, then this will not require you to change Vuforia Image Targets as the metadata associated with a given Vuforia target is controlled by the developer.
