How to make the object stay at the center of the screen even after the image target is removed?

Hi, I am working on a Vuforia project whereby the object is displayed at the center of the camera even after the image target is removed. I want the object to disappear after a certain timing. I have tried some codes I have found online but it seems that the object still tracks the image when I try to remove it from the camera's sights.
