Automatically Generating Vumarks and More

I need some help understanding couple of matters, please:

  1. Is it possible to automatically generate a vumark for each target image (by using API or any other means)?
  2. How do we use The Vumark-UserData layer (in the support video, it mentions that we can put Metadata... would like to know how?)

2. During Authoring in illustrator, the VuMark designer can add it.
