Hi I'm a first year CS student and I have to do a project about building a small application for the Hololens using Vuforia. The goal of the application is to detect VuMarks and upon detecting them, displaying information (or a button, if that is possible). So far, I had succes doing all these steps without VuMarks, but with Image recognition, and I used this tutorial. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=u6fT2zaEKVc (It is really well structured and explains things so that even total beginners understand it, in my opinion)
Now comes the problem:
I want to do the same, but with VuMarks instead of Image targets. I dont understand how I should do it, and the only tutorial I can find is the documentation of Vuforia telling me to use the Core samples. The problem is, even after looking at them i am still clueless as to how I should implement VuMarks in my project.
Another annoyance is that until now I used Unity 2017.1 and C# for the project, and everything worked. The Core samples however want me to use 2017.2 and C++, and I am not able to get the final core sample application to work in Visual Studio. Keep in mind, I have no experience AT ALL in C++ or C#.
Is there no way to find a working Tutorial/sample project/anything for Unity 2017.1 and C#? Or is there any explanation similar to the linked video above on how to implement vumarks?
I am open for any suggestions/ideas/inputs on what I should do, as I am really stuck.
Thank you for your time
Hello charelf,
Hello charelf,
VuMarks function very similarly to Image Targets once they are in your application. However, the creation of a VuMark requires more setup than the creation of an Image Target.

Are there any beginner friendly tutorials on how to get the core sample up and running in Unity?
The Core Samples seem to get
(Edited my comment: nevermind, figured it out)
