Issue to adjust a distance of Clipping Planes Far

March 21, 2021 - 6:44pm #1

Hello,

We are developing a function to view AR Experience data with adjusting a distance and we are encountering one issue.

A displayed window gets black when a distance is adjusted with Far value on Clipping Planes in a camera. Can you let me know how to fix this problem if you have experienced similar issue?

Do you think if this problem is caused by the case that position and scale on BackgroundPlane option cannot be adjusted.  If this is a case, can you let me know if there is API to adjust position and scale of BackgroundPlane for changing Far Plane without doing rest of a camera?

The relevant screen captures are updated in the attachment.

Hello,

The actual problem is that a displayed window gets black when a distance is adjusted with Far value on Clipping Planes in a camera. Please refer to the page #2 in the attachment.

Can you let me know how to fix this problem if you have experienced similar issue?

We are checking position and scale on BackgroundPlane option if this can be a possible cause.

Issue to adjust a distance of Clipping Planes Far

Hi,

Interesting use-case. In my tests I notice that different features have different minimum FAR values, for example for Groundplane, it has to be at least 2000, under will render a black video background; for VuMarks the FAR minimum value is 150.

I am currently investigating to understand if this is something that can be adjusted beyond the current limits.

Could you please provide more information about your use-case? Why would this be necessary?  I imagine setting the clipping plane 0.05 - 4000 to be sufficient.

Thank you.
