Dear Sir, Madam,

We are a Startup in Vietnam focus on Online Travel Application with new function: E - Guide. We're interested in Vuforia Developer for supporting our project. We would like to clarify one of your tools which are matching with our requirement: The Apps have intergrated photos in data warehouse. When users visit for sight seeing, meaning they take pictures at anywhere and they want to know information of those places. Will your feature be able to provide this tool and please kindly advise us which package we can choose in Classic / Cloud or Pro? We focus in this main function and do need your support.

Thanks and looking forward your reply as soonest before we decide to buy one suitable package of Vuforia.

Best Regards,

Hello Anh Ngoc,

This can be done either client or server side depending on your implementation and tech requirements/limitations. We do have sample code and some videos documenting our features. You can get direct support with our engineering teams if you have a VIP seat with us.

The size you are talking about can be possible in a few different ways using both our Cloud or Device database solutions. With a size that large, you might have better results with a multiple Cloud databases that you can switch to based on the region you are in. You can also download device databases based on the same information.

Thanks,

Vuforia Support

Dear Vuforia Support Team,

We are working on catering for restaurants. Each restaurant will have many menus / dishes

How can Vuforia help user scan the dishes, and display information for each, as example video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=N_j_clNOPS0

Does it base on client side (mobile) or server side (backend)?

Does Vuforia provide support (source code, demo source, documents, video, human)?

If possible, then with database consist of 1 million restaurants, over 20 millions dishes or more, what is the algorithm / solution so user can scan a dish with fastest speed and accuracy?

Best Regards,

Anh Ngoc

Hi Anh Ngoc,

What information are you looking for in a video? The samples (available on the Unity Asset Store or on our download page) are generally our recommended starting points. Is there more information you're wanting that goes beyond these?

In terms of your other questions, with the normal cloud plan and the max of 100,000 images, we generally don't see increases in query and response times as more images are added into this database. Your proposed database size is significantly larger than this so I can't say with certainty if this would be the case with 100 million images.

Since the cap on a normal cloud license is 100,000 images, you would need to reach out to our sales team to discuss a custom license that supports a significantly larger database. We can also work with you here to get you a more solid answer on response times with that size of a database.

You can reach our sales team through this form: https://developer.vuforia.com/contact-sales

Thanks,

Dear Vuforia Support,

Thanks so much for your reply. As per your description about image detection, it's been suitable with our use case. We're interested in the Cloud package with price of 99$/month. Regarding to this service,

1. Do you have any intro video for more detail of instruction?

2. In case of big data, detect speed will be slowed. Do you have any mechanism for processing this section? For example:

- How long does it take to image detection if database has about 100 million images?

- Will it response if the maximum detection time is less than 10s? Solution if it can response?

3. Because of service's requirement, we will have to use about 100 million images in database instead of your max size (100.000 images) in Cloud package, meaning can we extend the size by reset limitted from purchased package or buying  the new one?

Thanks in advance!

Regards

Anh Ngoc

Hello anhngoc290678,

Vuforia offers image detection, which could be used for the scenario described. With using Vuforia, you wouldn't be taking a picture and then match images against it, but instead would point your camera at an image and, if Vuforia detects it as an image you have uploaded to one of your databases, augment something on top of this image. Is this similar to what you are wanting to do with your use case?

Thanks,

-Vuforia Support
