Question about managing VuMark in Target Manager database

October 3, 2018 - 6:45am #1

Hi all,

I would like to find out if there is a way to disassociate a VuMark database with my classic license.

I developed an app with a developer license. I was hoping that I can migrate my VuMark over to my new classic license for launching. However, when I created a new VuMark database under the classic license and upload the same .svg, it didn't give me the same VuMark, the bright and dark elements were coded differently. Before I reprint everything, I would like to find out if there is a workaround to this.

thanks,

Kyle

Question about managing VuMark in Target Manager database

Dear Strasza,

Thanks for your replay, what if my classic key already connects to a different target database? How do I remove that? Originally I thought I could just upload the same .svg file to a new database would give me the same VuMark. That wasn't the case, they are all coded differently.

best,

Question about managing VuMark in Target Manager database

October 4, 2018 - 11:55am #2

Hello Kyle,

Please see the steps described below for how to accomplish what you're looking to do:

  1. Go to Target Manager
  2. Open database with template to be upgraded to new key
  3. Note name of license associated with database
  4. Go to License Manage
  5. Delete the license key from #3
  6. Return to database from #2
  7. Associate new license key

Notes:

  • You cannot downgrade a license key on a device database
  • You cannot re-assign the same type of key (development, cloud, pro) to a device database
  • Using the method above will insure that any existing Vumark instances will continue to work with the downloaded device database

Thanks,
