Vumark decoding time

March 26, 2017 - 5:09am #1

Hello,

I have been using Vumarks for a while now. I saw that Vuforia decodes the data written in a Vumark very quickly, but was wondering if there is any documentation or reference where the amount of time needed to decode it from the first frame it is visible on, is written and tested?

Any help would be very appreciated.

Hello,

Although Vuforia does internally benchmark our features, we do not publish this data due to the following factors:

  1. Device performance variability (due to hardware, threading, etc)
  2. Testing environment variability (lighting, spectral reflections, camera FPS, target angle, etc)

However, based upon my experience, Vuforia can take as few as two (2) camera frames to detect a planar target. As the processing for VuMarks is similar to planar targets, it is likely that similar performance can be achieved.

Thanks
