VuMark Silently Fails to Track

July 10, 2018 - 3:04am #5

Hi Guys,

I'm Trying to get the VuMarks working, I have all the latest Unity and Vuforia SDK (7.2) following are the steps I took to get my VuMark working please let me know where I have gone wrong. The issue is tracking is not happening there are no errors.

1: Created VuMark as per the guidelines and Illustrator plugin has passed all the test.

2: Uploaded the svg to VuMark Database downloaded the package for UnityEditor

3: Generated the VuMark (Numeric Value = 1)

4: Downloaded the png on the phone.

5: Downloaded the Vuforia Core Samples Opened VuMark scene

6: Imported the package downloaded in step 2

7: Added the license key (Tested the default VuMarks works, it does)

8: Replaced the default VuMark with my downloaded VuMark package in step 2.

9: In Resources the Configuration Asset does not have loading option any more hence need not activate database and targets they are automatically activated.

10: Played Held the phone with image target making sure the border of VuMark is contrasting enough and big enough tried at different distances from screen etc.

No Detection is happening, Some time playing crashes unity (But think that is unrelated).

Exact same issue here, same version and followed the same steps as you have stated.

VuMark Silently Fails to Track

Update on the situation. We realized that our VuMark had angles greater than 150 degrees for the contour path, which in the manual it said can cause the VuMark to not be detectable. So, this resulted in the database loading correctly and everything working properly as we both experienced, but in our case it turns out that the VuMark didn't have enough definable points to track. I would suggest double checking the requirements for creating a VuMark in the manual if you haven't already, as the angle requirements are not stated in the Illustrator verification plugin. Hope this helps and you can solve the tracking issue.

Thank you very much, my target is rotationally symmetric. Hope fixing this will fix the issues.

After checking...

Yup Works fine with pentagon...

Thanks again
