Workaround for iOS Apps failing review

Hello,

Attached is Vuforia’s version of the app-level fix scripts provided by @adrianj (many thanks!) in the following forum thread. This can be used immediately with SDK 6.5 (Unity 2017.2), SDK 7.0 (Unity 2017.3) and SDK 7.1 (Unity 2018.1).

Hello all,

I wanted to bring to attention an iOS issue you may encounter that will cause reduced performance within your app. This can occur either with native iOS or Unity development.

In native development, if you are not using a storyboard, you’ll need to set the ‘backgroundColor’ field of any UIView you generate with code to ‘UIColor.clearColor’ to get around a known iOS issue. If you are using a storyboard, you will not encounter this issue and will not need to add any code.

Video Playback Streaming Render To Texture

Hello,

I would like to have some video streamed and played on top of a recognized image, not in full screen. The vuforia samples as of this date do not seem to indicate that something like this is possible, or at least, they haven't created a sample with that.

Portrait mode - problems with video

Im having issues converting the sample code for the iOS to work in portrait mode.

There are two issues - video is flipped upside down, and it's stretched, like if it was drawn with different aspect ratio.

I tried various things, but can't solve it. Could someone help?

Vuforia Cloud detects only when debugging

I have strange issue with my project. Vuforia Cloud detection is working fine when I have iPhone connected to Xcode and run from Xcode in debugging. But if I close the app and run in again opening the icon on the desktop, for some reason nothing is being detected. I have no way to test what's going on, because when Im debugging it works. I tried changing Run mode to Release, but it didn't help. I have used production license and database. What could be wrong?

Sync renderers

Hi. Im making an iOS app that uses Vuforia Cloud and SceneKit together. I based this on Vuforia sample code.

MetalRenderer class is used to display video, while SceneKit is used to draw AR content.

It's working fine but with one flaw. Video and SceneKit are seems to be a bit off. I can see a small offset between camera and SceneKit rendering.

Is there some way to sync the timers of these things so that they render frames at the same time?

Running cloud recognition from external pixel buffer

Hi. I would like to use Vuforia Cloud recognition on the iOS to perform Cloud recognition on given pixel buffer, that comes from another place in the app. I don't want Vuforia to display anything, just to return from the cloud the list of recognized images. Is this possible? Could you point to some references where I could find any information about how to achieve this?

Undefined symbols for architecture arm64:

  "_OBJC_CLASS_$_NSMappingModel"

Kindly let me know what is the issue. This is unity project working fine on android build. Have some issue when I create build in xcode.

VuMark Custom Database Crash on iOS

Hi,

i am having problems getting the Vuforia Sample Project running with my custom VuMark on iOS.

The Sample Project can be deployed without problems, VuMark detection also works.

 

As soon as i use my Custom Database, it crashes.

It works fine in Play Mode in Unity, but whenever it gets deployed via XCode, the App freezes as soon as the Scene containing my Custom DB loads with this error: Thread 1: EXC_BAD_ACCESS (code=1, address=0x1521b7a74)

Vuforia camera looses focus too frequently

Hi. I'm using PTC's Vuforia for my AR application. I implemented a cylinder image target in a native iOS project. It worked, and the image can be tracked, but the camera looses focus too frequently, therefore when I rotate my cylinder target my 3d model does not rotate along smoothly.

My project is based on Vuforia sample project for iOS. I tried all different focus modes that are available for Vuforia camera device, but none seems to solve my problem.
