Known issue when submitting an iOS build to Testflight with Vuforia 7.2.20

Hello all,

There is an issue with Vuforia 7.2.20 that will prevent you from uploading your iOS app to TestFlight. The cause of the issue is that the “Bundle Version” field of the Info.plist in the Vuforia.framework is blank. This issue can be worked around by opening the Info.plist file and adding a number value, such as “1,” to this field.

Attached is Vuforia’s version of the app-level fix scripts provided by @adrianj (many thanks!) in the following forum thread. This can be used immediately with SDK 6.5 (Unity 2017.2), SDK 7.0 (Unity 2017.3) and SDK 7.1 (Unity 2018.1).

Hello all,

There is a known issue when using:

  • Vuforia 7
  • Xcode 9.3
  • Devices running iOS 11.3 beta && support ARKit (version 1.5, bundled with iOS 11.3 beta)

When developing with these versions, you may observe a camera preview that renders a black screen.

This is being addressed in an upcoming release of Vuforia. In the meantime, it is recommended to use Xcode 9.2 (or earlier) to ensure development continuity.

We will provide an update once the issue has been resolved.

iOS UIView issue

Hello all,

I wanted to bring to attention an iOS issue you may encounter that will cause reduced performance within your app. This can occur either with native iOS or Unity development.

In native development, if you are not using a storyboard, you’ll need to set the ‘backgroundColor’ field of any UIView you generate with code to ‘UIColor.clearColor’ to get around a known iOS issue. If you are using a storyboard, you will not encounter this issue and will not need to add any code.

Video Playback Streaming Render To Texture

I would like to have some video streamed and played on top of a recognized image, not in full screen. The vuforia samples as of this date do not seem to indicate that something like this is possible, or at least, they haven't created a sample with that.

When ios 14 or later, the screen changes to black and white and the tracking becomes unstable.

Apps that were successful in iOS 13 and earlier are updated to iOS 14 or later, and then the screen becomes black and white, and the recognition position is turned on strangely.

The Vuforia version is 8.3.8 and the Unity version is 2018.4.13f1.

What should be done?

Will version up of Vuforia solve the problem?

2. The old library (from 2014-2015 with that video playback feature) is still supported?

Vuforia SDK | Migration

I am creating this topic because I need to update an old project, which was built using Vuforia SDK: 5.0, with the latest version of Vuforia SDK for Unity.

Does anybody have a guideline, (step-by-step) process, to update a unity project with an older version of the SDK (like this one) to the latest version?

Additional data: Unity for mac version 2020.2.7 | XCode version 12 | iPad running iOS 14.4
