Printing a large format version of the Vuforia Object Scanner target

There have been infrequent requests on the forums for the ability to print the Vuforia Object Scanner target to sizes larger than the currently recommended maximum printable size of A3 with the 5.5.11 version of the tool.

Attached are updated versions of the Object Scanner target. These PDFs are scalable as they contain a vectorized image, instead of a bitmap. This means you can now print it to any scale without degradation.

In the near future, we will release an updated version of the Vuforia Object Scanner tool with these new assets.

Is there an app that works for ios?

Hey there,

Object Targets have been deprecated. This feature doesn't work anymore.

Can't start AR on 3D scanned object

I'm new to Vuforia

I am using Unity 2017 3.0f3 and for tutorial this video :

After the steps I was trying to add augmented reality, but it didn't worked.. Also when I test my 3d printed model as a target in "3D Scanner", it tracked just the Image object target in grey... I need this software for my PhD dissertation, how can I continue? Thanks in advance.

Hey there,

I suggest upgrading Vuforia Engine and Unity to the latest version and try again.

Ok thank you. I will try to uprage the software to a newer version, but what about the scanner app.
Why the scanner recognize just the object target (image target), not the physical object.

It could be that there are too little feature points. I suggest going through the documentation once again:

I also suggest having the paper turned out, as shown in the article.

Kind regards,

How to get Y-rotation angle of the image target ?

I have an image target of Books and I would like to get in Unity the Y-rotation in angle (degree) of that marker, for example in image 1 the books are correctly in vertical (like +- 0 degree) and in image 2 the books are a little tilted (between 35-60 degree). please how can I get this info ?

Recognizing a Type of Object

Hello everyone, I am working on a research project for one of my college classes and the project I chose involves creating an application for the HoloLens 2 that will guide the user through a woodworking project. The first thing I am trying to do is figure out a way for Vuforia to recognize any piece of wood around the user. I know that you can create Object and Model targets for Vuforia to recognize, but those are very specific. I am wondering if there is a way to train Vuforia to recognize any piece of wood because I don't want to have to train it for any possible piece of the wood the user can use. Please let me know if/how this is possible. Thanks!

3D object lags when moving camera

I have been using Vufuria for image detection for 3D objects. When the camera detects the image, the 3D object appears but it feel laggy when I move the camera (mobile Android). It feels like the app is only recalculating and repositioning the object every 0.5 secs.

However, when the camera is static, and the image target is moved around, the 3D object seems to move along the image closely.

Is there any setting that can fix this?

I have opted for MODE_OPTIMIZE_SPEED in the configuration.

Hey there,

First of all, I'm sorry for the delay in response. Are you able to provide me your Unity and Vuforia Engine version? Also, it would be great if you're able to share a small video of the lagging object, that would be immensely helpful.

Points are collected, but not identified

Using vuforia's 3D object recognition, the recognition object is a white model. The white plastic model with steel frame in the steel plant uses scanner software to collect points, which is about 340. But when using test, the scanning model does not appear green recognition block. If the model is not changed, is there any other way to solve it, or is there any problem

Image Target read from not a camera

First of all, I think it is better to start with my goal project. I plan to create an AR scene from the camera of a Robot, controlled by ROS, where the robot's camera has to read a QR (image target) and where a 3D object will appear. Until now, I have integrated ROS# as the nexus between the ROS (established on a Linux PC) and the Unity Scene (on a Windows PC). Right now, I get a satisfactory integration of the ROS camera into a Panel (Gameobject). My problem is reading the image target from this Panel (or "camera") as the Vuforia Behavo¡iour is integrated into the AR Camera.

The images sent by the ROS PC and the ones integrated into the Panel object are JPEG. Is there a way of using Image Target from this set of images instead of a camera of the Unity PC (webcam or USB Webcam)?.

Thank you for your attention.

Large Object Target....

I am looking at using something like a full size chair or a spinning wheel as an object target.

I this possible with Vuforia?

I believe Model Target should work with a chair.
