New Release 8.5 Patch (8.5.9) and samples (8.5.10) are available!

Hello,

Today we’re launching a patch to the Vuforia Engine 8.5 Unity Extension (8.5.9) to include a fix for a linker error seen in Xcode when building Vuforia Engine iOS apps with Unity 2019.3 beta 8 and later. The new version will be made available via Unity’s package manager.

I wanted to try the new Session recorder today. Everything regarding the recording itself went fine, but I can't ssem to get the recordings from the HoloLens onto my PC.

I would like to know if I use another camera than the hololens' one I can increase the tracking. Or if all of it depends on the capacity of the hololens to calculate the tracking or other.

Objects Move with Device

Hello, I just started using Vuforia a little while ago and am having issues with object stability. I am using a large barcode as my anchor that I am not very far from. If I move even the tiniest bit, all objects will move with me, so I cannot get anything to stay even relatively stable in 3D space. Would anyone know what could be causing this?

Marker being detected on WebCam in Editor but not in Build

Hello

I have a marker which the WebCam (1080p) detects easily but my Hololens 2 does not. A different marker in the same database does work though, so it cannot be anything in the project/scene settings. The marker has a 5 Star rating. Using Unity 2019.4 and Vuforia 9.4.6

What can be the reason for this?

Hi, 

I'm trying to run the Vuforia's "Image Targets" functionality on Hololens 2.

I'm using Unity 2019.4.11, MRTK 2.4.0 and Vuforia 9.4.6.

In the Unity editor this seems to work, but not on the device.

Therefore, I have questions:

1) has anyone launched an application with a combination of these software?

2) which package should be used "Windows Mixed Reality" or "Windows XR Plugin"?

3) which MRTK profile should be set Hololens2 or XRSDK or an another?

4) "XR Rig" should be used or not?

Holograms disappear when I remove headset.

Hi everyone!

I am using a Hololens 2 and the latest Vuforia with Unity3D.



I want to record a video while Vuforia is running (Through the Web portal of the HL2).

I want to take several pictures where the headset is placed on different positions.

When I am wearing the headset the holograms are rendered normally and I can see them through the Live view on the portal.

However when I remove the headset from my head, the holograms just disappear from the video.

Vumarks do not work on HoloLens 2 in Release Mode

Hello

I am upgrading my Hololens 1 app to the HoloLens 2. I am using Vumarks. They work perfectly on Hololens 1 but I can get them to work on HoloLens 2.

When i am building my application in Release Mode, i get an error: "cannot load <Marker> database."  In debug Mode it is working. The database is loaded but everything is super low.



I tried different things. Here are some steps to reproduce the problem.

Rendering bug in Unity 2019.4.1

I am testing out a custom VuMark with a not-yet-paid developer key in Unity 2019.4.1. I am deploying to a HoloLens 2. I am experiencing a strange rendering glitch or bug that I don't experience with the Vuforia sample database. I can see that the marker is being tracked, but it appears that there is some sort of rendering noise that is preventing me from viewing the model correctly; I don't see a watermark rendering in the scene, but I am concerned that the watermark might be the issue, and that whatever shader is being used for the watermark is not compatible with rendering on the device.

Grabbable Hologram with MRTK

Do resizing, moving, etc. features (MRTK) work with the holograms that are ancored on Vuforia image targets? I might have missed it but it seems to me that the sample project does not support this feature.

I did a test by attaching ManipulationHandler.cs and NearInteractionGrabbable.cs (https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/mixed-reality/mrtk-101) to the model that's supposed to be on the Vuforia image target, and I tried to grab and move it. It did not work. Is this supposed to work?
