Update to Vuforia 7 Known Issues

December 22, 2017 - 3:22pm #1

Hello all,

We updated our known issues for Vuforia 7 to include a recently discovered issue related to checking for Ground Plane device compatibility. The issue involves unsupported devices incorrectly returning true when being checked for 6DoF support. This issue is being addressed in a Vuforia 7 patch that will be available in the next few weeks.

Replacement for Smart Terrain's vertical surfaces recognition?

March 2, 2020 - 5:38am #1

I am developing a game for my Bachelor's Degree, which is supposed to track cards as image targets and simultaneously recognize obstacles like a mug on a table. As Smart Terrain is now deprecated. is there any new way to recognize a vertical surface? I see that Ground Plane is the replacement for mention before feature, but I do not see any examples of it detecting anything else than the horizontal surfaces.

Ground Plane And Cylinder Target

February 27, 2020 - 5:24am #1

I am wondering how I can mix ground plane detection with cylinder targets?

Let's say we have a bottle of coke as a cylinder target, and I want to detect if the bottle is on the table or of the user is holding it in his hands. if I could detect both, then I could put proper shadows on all the augmented 3d content around the detected cylinder target.

 Thanks for your help!

Ground plane arcore clipping plane

February 26, 2020 - 3:29pm #1

We are developing and ar game using ground plane where we need to position an object far away. While testing on the device we have found that after some distance the object disappears. Reading on ArCore forums, seems this is caused by the far clipping plane of the ar camera of arcore being set too low, i wonder if vuforia provides some way to access  the arcore api directly or set the clipping planes in some way. Changing the arcamera far clipping plane property didn't help.

Ground Plane Tracking

January 24, 2020 - 6:14am #1

I am using the Vuforia 8.6.7 version. When model is deployed on Shiny and Rough Surface, the deployed jitters and slides and also, the model resizes. The client has access to only such shiny surfaces, is there any possible ways to optimise the ground detection?

microsoft surface pro 7

January 23, 2020 - 2:35am #1

I was looking to update my Surface Pro3 to the latest platform, Surface Pro 7.  I went to the store and loaded Vuforia View and found that ground planes are NOT supported on this modern platform (supported on Surface Pro 6).

Is there a technical reason why PTC/Microsoft have not put this key piece of functionality into their release?

Thank you,

Support devices

January 16, 2020 - 6:00am #1

Hi, I want to add ground plane to my vuforia unity project.

I found list of supported devices:

Is this the current list of devices? Because i can see Huawei P20, but i don't see newer model Huawei P30

And what about Xiaomi devices? Are these devices supported?
