Update to Vuforia 7 Known Issues

Hello all,


We updated our known issues for Vuforia 7 to include a recently discovered issue related to checking for Ground Plane device compatibility. The issue involves unsupported devices incorrectly returning true when being checked for 6DoF support. This issue is being addressed in a Vuforia 7 patch that will be available in the next few weeks.

Hi, I want to add ground plane to my vuforia unity project. 

I found list of supported devices:

Is this the current list of devices? Because i can see Huawei P20, but i don't see newer model Huawei P30

And what about Xiaomi devices? Are these devices supported?

Android Devices struggle to find and maintain Ground Plane

Hi guys, 

 

We've noticed that ARKit (Platform fusion sensor) supported devices are able to find and maintain the ground plane much faster than any comparative ARCore device - including high end ARCore devices. 

 

Could you give any support on why this might be the case on whether it can be improved?

Switch between Image Target and Ground Plane

I have a 3D model and I'd like to have to option to attach it to an Image Target OR a Ground Plane. The way I implemented this is by keeping the model as a child of the Image Target, and pressing a button it's parented to the Ground Plane Stage. Pressing the button again brings the model back into the image Target.

Optical effect of double images

I'm making some apps in AR using Unity, Vuforia and the Moverio BT-300. After removing the background with camera shooting, I noticed that for an annoying optical game, some bright quads appear to be duplicates. I noticed that closing one eye the problem does not exist. So I wanted to remove the problem by turning off one of the two Moverio monitors, that is turning off one of the two lenses. Is it possible to do this with Vuforia?

Object tracking on app is not how on Vuforia Scanner

Hello everybody. I'm trying to track 3D objects by scanning the various objects with the Vuforia Object Scanner software. When the relative object is recognized, my app shows arrows (a png file) superimposed on the object. The problem is when I test the object with the same Vuforia Object Scanner, the green column appears almost immediately, while when I then run my application the object is rarely recognized and with random times. Why? Is there any setting from Vuforia and Unity that I have to activate to make everything work correctly?

Ground plane detection problem on Vuforia 8.0, work nice on Vuforia 7.5

Hello,

I am using Vuforia ground plane and everything work fine with Vuforia 7.5 (with Unity 2018). After I updated to Vuforia 8.3.8 with Unity 2019.1.13f, it is very very difficult to detect the ground plane. When the ground plane is detected and an object is placed, sometimes it keeps lost tracking when I move.

How can I fix this? It's very urgent please !

My phone is a HUAWEI P20

Ground Plane not detected on vuforia 8.1.10

Ground plane detection is not working, I test in Nokia 8.1 & One plus 6T in both the mobile it's working.I had Posted a screenshots of my project which is a basic ground plane detection scene.

Storing virtual Object on Ground Plane

Hello there,

I am wondering whether you can store virtual objects on ground planes or not.

Is the value of "mHitTestPoseMatrix = modelViewMatrix;" relative to Feature Points, the Startposition of your device or the position of you device when you perform the hitTest and place your object?

I am wondering bc if it would not be connected to the FeaturePoints, I would like to try out combinding "custom marker" with Ground Plane-Placements to be able to store certain virtual objects in AR.
