Update to Vuforia 7 Known Issues

Hello all,

We updated our known issues for Vuforia 7 to include a recently discovered issue related to checking for Ground Plane device compatibility. The issue involves unsupported devices incorrectly returning true when being checked for 6DoF support. This issue is being addressed in a Vuforia 7 patch that will be available in the next few weeks.

I have a hybrid app that runs google cardboard VR and vuforia AR, its a year old and a few versions down the road.

I have an intermittent problem when going from our main menu to AR on my iphone, the AR camera will turn off and i see just the grey background.the AR object still works though, but there is no camera feed.

the strange thing is, sometimes I can go menu > AR > back again like 7 times before the error will show up, other times just 2 times will do it.

Ive googled and lots of people have similar errors but I couldnt pin anything down

Ground Plane not working in One Plus 3 (Listed Device)

I am using Vuforia 8.1.7 with Unity 2018.3.11, I have followed the Ground Plane tutorial and tried to run it on One Plus 3 (it is one of the listed device by Vuforia) and failed; I have also imported the Vuforia Core Sample and tried to run it on One Plus 3 which also failed by saying Unsupported Device. I have no idea why this is happening. Can someone please point me in the right direction.

Ground plane detection problem on Vuforia 8.0

I am using Vuforia ground plane in my project, everything is working fine in Vuforia 7.5. After I updated to Vuforia 8.0, it is difficult to detect the ground plane. When the ground plane is detected and an object is placed, it keeps lost tracking as I move my phone around.

Why it keeps lost track of the ground plane in Vuforia 8.0? How can I fix this?

My test device is iPhone 6.

Change Ground Plane Stage Scale

Hi! Anyone who knows how to scale down or up the Ground Plane Stage? The scale is fixed to 1.  I can't scale down all the objects in my game since it would break the physics. please help Thanks!

Vumark/Image Tracking + Groundplane/MidAir Tracking

I have been able to get vumarks and image tracking working. What I really want is a very stable extended tracking/SLAM solution based on where that image is located. That is, I want an augmentation to appear on that image and when I look around and look back, it's where I left it. I have found that using positional tracking is not good enough - there is a lot of drift. 

I have also found that groundplane/midair tracking work very well. I look away and the target is where I last saw it - very stable!

Plane Ground, Plane Finder Reset

Currently, AR contents are created using Ground Plane and Plane Finder in Unity.

When you're aware of a floor surface and it's unrecognized, you're no longer looking for a floor.

Is there a function to get the floor back?

Image Tracking with navigation to Ground plane

Hi Guys,

I have just stated to develop an AR app using Unity + Vuforia.

The requirement is when the app is executed, the first scene starts with Image target scanning, when thats done, there is one button appears in AR on the image target. 

When the user touches this button it should load another scene with Ground plane detection and start a building animation. 

Now I have added 2 AR cameras for both the scenes but when I try to run the app in play mode, none of the cameras are working and the screen remains black.
