Vuforia Area Target Generator 9.8.8 fixes an issue with the tool failing during processing very large scans from E57 input data.

RESOLVED: Known issue with ATG and Matterport

Creating datasets with ATG fails with an Matterport error: "Received an invalid response..." or "Unable to connect to Matterport portal..."

I'm developing with Area targets AR App in ios, I want to know how can i add a function that users can take photo when they see the AR Object. Second, if I have three maps in three places, how can i let users can change maps in the App. Third, if I want to update the maps or the AR content in the maps, should i always change them in unity and let users download App again?Last, is there any requirement about 3D models in AR content, like size?

Use Area target from 3D model

In case we don't own and iPad or iPhone but we can manage to build an accurate 3d model of an indoor environment using external 3d modeling tools (3DsMax, Blender...), is it possible to import such model and use the Vuforia Area Targets in Unity?

Professional Scanner

We are interested in using Vuforia Area Target in our AR project and we would like to scan the physical environment using a professional scanner.
Our college has the following scanners:

- Faro 3D HW LS Focus Laser Scanner
- Riegl LMS-Z390i 3D Terrestrial Laser Scanner
- Faro Freestyle 3D Scanner HW FS

Does the Vuforia Area Target Generator accepts the (.E57) file exported from these scanners?

What maximum size of Area Target can be created

Hi ,

Can anyone please help me with the maximum size of Area Target we can create using any scanner.

Say I want to use it for a large building of 25 floors , each floor area is more that 4000 sq ft. Is it possible to create area target for all 25 floors (4000 x 25 = 100000 sq ft )  ???
