RESOLVED: Known issue with ATG and Matterport

Creating datasets with ATG fails with an Matterport error: "Received an invalid response..." or "Unable to connect to Matterport portal..."

We are working with Matterport to address this issue as quickly as possible.

Occlusion works in simulation but not build

Hi all,

I encountered a problem, where occlusion doesn't work for the area target and its children objects, only on Android build (haven't tested iOS).

Occlusion works just fine in the simulator mode in Unity and there doesn't seem to be any problem.

To make it clear, I added occlusion mesh in the Editor (AreaTarget game object options) and haven't done anything extra (which worked in Vuforia 9.7.5 and Unity 2019.3f4)

Some additional information:

Unity version 2020.31f1

Windows 10

Android, Galaxy S20 FE

Downloading, loading and activating Area Target Datasets at runtime

My project is about using Area Targets, Model Targets and scenes from assetbundles. Basically, I want to add new downloaded AR Scenes to a deployed iOS and Android applications.

The question is : Is it possible to add new Area Targets and Model Targets at runtime, or is it only possible with Image Targets?

If not, will this feature be added in the future, like with Image Targets?

Support for Samsung Galaxy S21 5G AreaTarget issue

Hi! In order to inspect the function of area target, I found information on your official website that provides recommended devices. And I finally got a Samsung Galaxy S21 5G, which is one of the recommended on your website.  However, after I installed my finished apk into the cellphone, and used it to take pictures on my field trip, it didn't work as it is expected. When the cellphone caught the target that I intended to take pictures of, it simply vibrated, but it didn't show the object display that I had previously set on Scene.

How to keep a previous AR experience

I have the problem with keeping a previous AR experience. Below is the actual use case.

 1. Track AR experience in Vuforia App

 2. Run other App not related to Vuforia Engine

 3. Return back to Vuforia App and lose a previous AR experience

We want to keep a previous AR experience when returning back to Vuforia App.

It returns back to Vuforia App when we use ARCore, but it does not on Vuforia Engine.

Artec Area Target

Is it possible to use an Artec Eva scanner to make an area target? It can export as e57, I just keep getting a "validation of the e57 file failed" error. If not, are there plans to support this in future?
