Hello,

There is a 2 step approach that you need to take in order to render something else beside teapot. First you will need to be able to import the 3d model in your app. This could be achieved by using Assimp. The second step is to use a 3d renderer like opengl to augment your 3d model.

The undertaking is quite big and challenging from a technical standpoint. A more reasonable approach for prototyping would be to use Unity as the rendering is being provided out of the box.

Thank you.

How can I create my own rendering engine for that, or use existing tools from the platform?

Hi,

Our documentation under https://library.vuforia.com/articles/Solution/Getting-Started-with-Vuforia-for-Android-Development.html provides an overview on how to start.

In the above tutorial you will find also our core samples in which we demo our features like Image Targets, Ground Plane, etc.

One important aspect I would like to mention is that Vuforia does not handle the rendering part for Native development ( iOS, Android, UWP) and you will need to create your own rendering engine for that, or use existing tools from the platform. ex. if you replace the teapot 3d model from the core samples, rendering another 3d model might not work as our core samples where especially designed to render the teapot.

Thank you.
