  • Ground Plane

Other

  • Instant Image Targets
  • File Driver
  • Cloud Image Recognition up to 1000 Image Targets and 1000 recos/month

The Basic plan allows development with Model Targets, Area Targets, and Barcodes features, but your application cannot be published in an app store. A Vuforia watermark will also be present when testing these following features together with a Basic license.

  • Model Targets have a creation limit of 20 in the Model Target Generator
  • Area Targets have a creation limit of 20 in the Area Target Generator

What is the Premium plan?

  • Model Targets

  • Barcode Scanner

What is the Enterprise plan?

The Enterprise plan is an annual subscription that allows you to utilize the most advanced Vuforia Engine technologies. The Enterprise plan also enables on-premise use cases for advanced features.

The Enterprise plan unlock all Vuforia features that the Basic and Premium plan supports and further extends development and publishing without a watermark for:

  • On-Prem Advanced Model Targets (Currently in beta)
  • Step-Check (Currently in beta)

What are Cloud Image Recognition and Cloud Image Recognition Plus Add-ons?

The Cloud Image Recognition and Cloud Image Recognition Plus Add-ons are subscriptions that increase your monthly Cloud Image Recognition limits. The Add-on must be associated with a Cloud Database. See Cloud Databases for instructions.

Can I publish an app at no charge?

Yes, building and publishing apps that use Vuforia Engine with a Basic plan and license is free. However, if you want to publish an app with Model Targets, Area Targets, or Barcode Scanning, you will need a Premium plan. An Enterprise plan is likewise required for the Step Check and On-Prem Advanced Model Target features.

How do I remove the watermark?

If you are using Model Targets or Area Targets with a Basic plan and license, a watermark will appear, and the application cannot be published to an app store. To remove the watermark, upgrade to the Premium or Enterprise plan.

How do I upgrade my Basic plan to Premium or Enterprise?

You can request a Premium or Enterprise plan from the pricing page.

What should I do with my existing apps and my legacy basic license?

No action is required. You can continue to use your basic license in your existing apps. Basic legacy licenses do not expire, and license holders will not be billed in the future.

What should I do with my legacy development license?

You can continue to use your older development license in your existing development projects. Legacy Development and Legacy Basic licenses behave similarly as the Basic plan, but they do not include Cloud or Model Target/Area Target trial capabilities. To take advantage of the trial features, please generate a new Basic license.

How many apps can I publish with my plan?

You can publish unlimited apps under a single plan (Basic, Academic, Premium, and Enterprise).

We recommend generating a new license in the Plan & Licenses tab for each app you wish to publish.

How can I share licenses with my team and organization?

To access the Engine Developer Portal, we recommend that you use one shared email account for your team and organization to generate targets, manage databases, and access licenses. E.g., vuforia-account@yourcompany.com. Your team should monitor this email for activity and important notifications from the Engine Developer Portal to access the licenses needed for development.

To use Vuforia Engine web services within your organization, we recommend creating OAuth credentials to share with your team, which can be managed from the Engine Developer Portal Credentials tab.

I already bought a license key for my app. Do I need to pay again to change to the new plans?

No, your existing license will continue to function as normal.

Does my app and license support VuMarks?

Yes, all licenses allow for developing and publishing with VuMarks. You can use multiple VuMark Databases and the web API to generate VuMark instances. See Using the VuMark Generation API for details.

Can I use a Cloud Image Recognition or Cloud Image Recognition Plus Add-on in my app?

If your application uses Cloud Image Recognition and you reach the limit of 1000 recos a month, you may purchase the Cloud or Cloud Image Recognition Plus Add-on. Each plan can be extended with the Add-ons. The tier of the Add-on depends on the number of recos per month and the number of target images. For a price list, please refer to the pricing page.

What happens if my app exceeds the monthly reco usage allowance provided by the Cloud Image Recognition and Cloud Image Recognition Plus Add-on?

If your app uses a Cloud or Cloud Image Recognition Plus Add-on and you exceed the reco allowance, your app will continue to work without interruption, and there will be no impact on the end users.

If you exceed the limit, you will receive an email notification to contact sales to review your Add-on tier level. There is an overage charge for exceeding the limit.

NOTE: A license used in an app without a Cloud or Cloud Image Recognition Plus Add-on will be suspended for the remainder of the month when it reaches the maximum allowance of monthly recos (1000).

What are Cloud Image Recognition Add-on overages?

Any Cloud image recos beyond the included monthly Cloud Image reco usage are overages. The standard overage rate for the Cloud Image Recognition Add-on is $0.01/reco, and some Cloud Image Recognition Plus Tiers have different overage rates. See also Image Tracking for more Cloud Image Recognition information and answers.

Can I cancel my license?

Yes, licenses can be canceled. See Cancel a License for steps. Basic, Premium, and Cloud Image Recognition and Cloud Image Recognition Plus Add-ons cancellations are effective shortly after the cancellation is processed.

How do I cancel my Cloud Image Recognition Add-on subscription?

Cancel your Cloud Image Recognition Add-on subscription the same way you cancel any other license. Canceling a license is performed in the Licenses & Plans tab. By canceling the Add-on license, the subscription is terminated. Contact your sales representative to cancel Cloud Image Recognition Plus Add-ons.

What happens to my app when my Premium or Cloud Image Recognition Add-on license expires?

In apps that use an expired paid license, Vuforia Engine will fail to initialize on startup due to the failed license check. This means that the Vuforia Engine functionality included in your application will not work. Some users who have already installed and run the app before the license expires might be able to continue using Engine due to cached license information. However, such usage would be out of compliance with the terms of the Engine license agreement. Apps that use a Cloud Image Recognition Add-on will no longer be able to use Cloud Image Recognition when the Add-on expires, and the requests will fail.
