Hello,

The star rating provides a heuristic analysis of the given target, but does not necessarily represent the actual run time detection and/or tracking performance. It is to provide some level of feedback to help guide developers to optimize their targets.

Here is some guidance on optimizing targets: https://library.vuforia.com/articles/Solution/Optimizing-Target-Detection-and-Tracking-Stability

Thanks,

Curious how the marker star rating works.

Have tried vornoi and such but the results aren't great for star rating - though many features are detected

I used that one to start off, but since I need different sizes of markers and way higher resolutions I now started to build my own generator in Processing. It is crude for now but I'm rusty in Java.

Maybe this helps anyone. Just hit me up with feature requests or pull requests if you see things that can be improved, I'd like to flesh this out.
